Senior Product Designer
MarginEdge is seeking a creative and passionate Senior Product Designer to join our growing team. We’re on a mission to help restaurant owners and operators streamline operations and save valuable time and money so they can focus their energy on food and hospitality (i.e. why they got in the biz). Our commitment extends beyond incremental improvements; we aspire to make a meaningful impact.
As a Senior Product Designer at MarginEdge, you’ll take the lead in creating designs that help restaurant teams work smarter. Collaborating closely with your triad, you’ll build intuitive interfaces that turn complex data into straightforward and delightful solutions. From conducting user research to developing workflows, wireframes, and prototypes, you’ll own every step of the design process. You’ll also play a key role in driving growth and retention while fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and innovation. If you love working with amazing people and designing empathetic products, [me] is for you!
This position is hybrid, located in Arlington, VA, and offers a blend of remote work and in-office collaboration. While much of the work can be done from home, candidates should be able to join us on-site as needed to support team collaboration and strategic planning.
MarginEdge: Where hospitality meets technology
As a team built by former (and current!) restaurant operators, our mission is to bring operators the same energy, attention to detail, and passion that they bring to their guests. Our culture is deeply rooted in service, partially because that’s where so many of our team come from (including everyone on our Business Development team), but also because we believe it is just the right way to run a business. We design our software with profound empathy for the complexity of running a restaurant, and the goal of making the magic just a little easier for operators by taking the complex (read: very annoying) back office tasks off their plate, while empowering them with real-time data.
Our founders share a deep history in both owning and operating restaurants and in building successful tech companies. We are venture-backed and serve 8,000+ restaurants across the US and Canada.
We enable restaurants to make magic while knowing we are doing the same for them.
We have the utmost respect for our clients and because of this, we are unable to hire their current employees.
What type of responsibilities will I have?
Communicate your design thinking through wireframes, prototypes, user flows, mockups, and high-fidelity visual designs
Advocate for design and UX best practices, collaborating with designers to ensure consistency, think through complex problems, and create efficiency in our design processes & frameworks
Partner with product management, engineering and cross-functional partners to prioritize, define, and launch initiatives that balance MarginEdge’s business objectives with customer needs
Embrace ambiguity, develop hypotheses, and establish clear success metrics to improve the discoverability and adoption of our features
Leverage creative user research methods and data to uncover pain points and guide design decisions; and share those synthesized insights with the team to promote alignment and deepen empathy
Contribute to strategic planning for design initiatives
What qualifications or skills are required?
6+ years as a UX or product designer in an agile environment
Proficient with wireframing and prototyping tools
