Senior Product Designer I
MarginEdge is an AI-forward company helping restaurants run smarter with clearer insights, simpler workflows, and less back-office friction. We give operators more control over their back of house, so they can spend less time buried in admin and more time doing what they love. Sound like your kind of thing? Great, let’s dive in!
We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer to shape scalable, intuitive experiences for our larger clients. AI and automation are central to how we accelerate design experimentation and product innovation—helping us move faster, build smarter, and deliver more value to operators. In this role, you’ll design workflows that reflect how real restaurants operate, making the complex feel simple, the big picture easy to see, and operators confident as they grow. That means turning powerful AI into solutions that feel as supportive as they are smart, and working across teams to turn complexity into clarity and insights into action.
If you love making the complex feel intuitive and designing tools that actually get used, we’d love to meet you.
MarginEdge: Where hospitality meets technology
As a team built by former (and current!) restaurant operators, our mission is to bring operators the same energy, attention to detail, and passion that they bring to their guests. Our culture is deeply rooted in service, partially because that’s where so many of our team come from (including everyone on our Business Development team), but also because we believe it is just the right way to run a business. We design our software with profound empathy for the complexity of running a restaurant, and the goal of making the magic just a little easier for operators by taking the complex (read: very annoying) back office tasks off their plate, while empowering them with real-time data.
Our founders share a deep history in both owning and operating restaurants and in building successful tech companies. We are venture-backed and serve 10,000+ restaurants across the US and Canada.
We enable restaurants to make magic while knowing we are doing the same for them.
We have the utmost respect for our clients and because of this, we are unable to hire their current employees.
What type of responsibilities will I have?
- Design enterprise-grade workflows that reflect real restaurant operations, with clear permissions, reporting, and support built in
- Help define what AI-powered simplicity looks like for enterprise operators by translating intelligence into intuitive, action-driven experiences
- Translate high-volume, high-complexity tasks into clear flows, flexible patterns, and polished UI
- Design experiences that reduce manual work, surface insights at the right time, and give operators more control with less effort
- Partner with PMs, engineers, and data scientists to shape strategy and ensure solutions scale with our mid-market clients
- Build scalable design systems, reusable components, and UX guardrails that keep products consistent, flexible, and fast to build
- Prototype and test solutions that keep data actionable—not overwhelming
- Mentor teammates and share best practices in systems, enterprise, or data-rich design
What qualifications or skills are required?
- 6+ years in product/UX design, ideally with enterprise SaaS or data-heavy products
- Experience designing workflows with complex roles, permissions, or reporting structures
- Strong systems thinking—you know how to design for scale and flexibility
- Experience designing AI-powered workflows or tools that support confident, clear decision-making at scale
- Track record of driving adoption and engagement across large, distributed user groups
- Ability to make technical concepts simple and actionable through design
- Comfort working with design systems for complex, evolving products
- Skilled at uncovering edge cases, managing ambiguity, and collaborating across disciplines
- Portfolio showing clean design, smart systems thinking, and enterprise-ready wor
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with growth design, design systems, or intelligent automation workflows
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, or a related field
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS/JS, Storybook, AI-assisted prototyping tools, or Jira
- Experience at a venture-based startup or growth-stage company
- Experience working in or around restaurants or hospitality (with a love of great food)
