Senior Product Designer II
At MarginEdge, we build tools that help restaurants run smarter by delivering clearer insights, simplifying day-to-day tasks, and reducing back-office friction. We aim to help operators take back control of the back of house, so they can spend less time buried in admin and more time doing what they love. Sound like your kind of challenge? Great!
We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer II to lead design for our Kitchen RMS platform—a mission-critical suite of tools that helps restaurants manage prep, recipes, production, and inventory with more control and less guesswork. You’ll collaborate closely with product and engineering leads to deliver high-impact solutions that help restaurant teams prep, track, and run their kitchens with ease. You’ll also set the standard for great UX in a space where clarity, efficiency, and trust are everything.
If you’re excited about designing thoughtful, practical solutions for a fast-paced, hospitality-driven world, we’d love to meet you.
MarginEdge: Where hospitality meets technology
As a team built by former (and current!) restaurant operators, our mission is to bring operators the same energy, attention to detail, and passion that they bring to their guests. Our culture is deeply rooted in service, partially because that’s where so many of our team come from (including everyone on our Business Development team), but also because we believe it is just the right way to run a business. We design our software with profound empathy for the complexity of running a restaurant, and the goal of making the magic just a little easier for operators by taking the complex (read: very annoying) back office tasks off their plate, while empowering them with real-time data.
Our founders share a deep history in both owning and operating restaurants and in building successful tech companies. We are venture-backed and serve 10,000+ restaurants across the US and Canada.
We enable restaurants to make magic while knowing we are doing the same for them.
We have the utmost respect for our clients and because of this, we are unable to hire their current employees.
What type of responsibilities will I have?
- Own the end-to-end design of our Kitchen RMS platform, collaborating across product to shape platform-wide strategy and ensure a cohesive experience
- Partner with your squad to frame the right problems, validate the best ideas, and ship solutions that make a real difference in kitchens
- Spot and remove friction in workflows by applying behavioral insights, testing, and data to create designs people actually want to use
- Use research and operator insights to guide decisions, uncover new opportunities, and stay grounded in real kitchen workflows
- Bring AI to the kitchen by designing experiences that streamline prep, reduce manual entry, and help teams run smarter, faster operations
- Contribute to our design system by refining components, setting smart standards, and helping teams build with speed and consistency
- Raise the bar for UX by making sure every solution is clear, usable, and (dare I say) delightful
- Grow and mentor the design team, helping us improve how we work, document, and make decision
What qualifications or skills are required?
- 8+ years of experience as a UX or product designer in an agile environment, delivering thoughtful, end-to-end solutions
- Experience leading design in a cross-functional squad—shaping product direction, aligning the team, and pushing for quality
- Comfortable defining success metrics, measuring impact, and making tradeoffs between user value and business goals
- Strong systems thinking and a history of tackling complex, layered design problems from first sketch to final polish
- Deep knowledge of UX patterns and the judgment to use, adapt, or rethink them to meet user and business needs
- Proven ability to design for adoption and engagement using behavioral insights and user testing
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, think strategically, and move from insight to action quickly
- A portfolio that shows clean design, clear thinking, and measurable results
Nice to Haves:
- Experience with product-led growth, building scalable design systems, and/or developing AI-driven features (and the curiosity to go deep in any of them)
- Experience working on both web-based and mobile solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS/JS, Storybook, AI-assisted prototyping tools, or Jira
- Experience in a venture-based startup or growth-stage environment
- Experience working in or around restaurants or hospitality
Our job descriptions are wishlists. If you are interested and believe you are qualified then please apply! Even if you don’t check every box, we’d love to learn more about you and what you might bring to the team. If you need assistance applying, please contact Jobs@MarginEdge.com.

Our dream is to make the magic just a little easier for operators and their teams. We believe in crazy things like knowing how much waste your kitchen is producing and what your total spend is during the period. Solving these kinds of problems is really freaking hard to do, which is why we develop cutting-edge technology that answers these questions with data science.
