Vendor Outreach Representative
The Vendor Outreach Representative is responsible for initiating and maintaining communication with vendors to ensure the successful onboarding of restaurant vendors onto the MarginEdge platform. This role is critical to the overall client experience and ensures accurate, timely data exchange between MarginEdge and its clients’ vendors. The position serves as a key liaison between restaurants and their vendors, facilitating the smooth flow of moving from checks to an electronic payment method, preferably virtual credit card.
This is a junior-level role, suitable for those beginning their professional journey.
MarginEdge: Where hospitality meets technology
As a team built by former (and current!) restaurant operators, our mission is to bring operators the same energy, attention to detail, and passion that they bring to their guests. Our culture is deeply rooted in service, partially because that’s where so many of our team come from (including everyone on our Business Development team), but also because we believe it is just the right way to run a business. We design our software with profound empathy for the complexity of running a restaurant, and the goal of making the magic just a little easier for operators by taking the complex (read: very annoying) back office tasks off their plate, while empowering them with real-time data.
Our founders share a deep history in both owning and operating restaurants and in building successful tech companies. We are venture-backed and serve 10,000+ restaurants across the US and Canada.
We enable restaurants to make magic while knowing we are doing the same for them.
We have the utmost respect for our clients and because of this, we are unable to hire their current employees.
What type of responsibilities will I have?
- Identify and reach out to vendors associated with restaurant clients to request electronic payment enrollment.
- Communicate clearly the value of vendor participation and next steps.
- Track communication using internal tools and follow up as needed to ensure responsiveness.
- Ensure all communication and vendor status updates are accurately entered into CRM systems.
- Keep internal tracking spreadsheets or dashboards updated in real-time.
What qualifications or skills are required?
- Strong Communication Skills – Ability to engage professionally with vendors via phone and email; persuasive and clear when explaining technical needs or resolving resistance.
- Detail-Oriented – Ability to track outreach progress, follow up consistently, and manage multiple vendors per account.
- Customer-Focused – Always working to support a positive client experience by ensuring vendor cooperation and timely onboarding.
- Problem-Solving Mindset – Listening to the vendor and providing the right payment solution.
- Soft sales skills- Ability to position a revenue generating payment option and persuade vendors to sign up.
Nice to Haves:
- Payments- General knowledge of different payment types within the business to business industry (Check, ACH, VCC)
- Technical Knowledge of CRM Systems – Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar systems used to track outreach and follow-up.
- Industry Knowledge of Foodservice/Hospitality – Understanding how restaurants operate, including vendor relationships and supply chain basics.
- Organizational Knowledge of Onboarding Workflow – Understanding of the customer onboarding process and how vendor outreach fits into the larger customer success goals.

Imagine the fun of a great restaurant - surrounded by a team of people (including some that you help to manage!) who care about hospitality, care about quality, and care about each other - then subtract the long nights, weekends, drunk customers at the bar...et voila, MarginEdge!
We work hard, we work fast and we fuel our work with a commitment of transparency from leadership, straight talk and trust between teams. Did we mention it has a full commercial kitchen and is walking distance (covered walking, that is) from the metro?
