Fill in job summary
We’re seeking a talented individual to join our team to work directly with accounting firms who service restaurant customers. This person will onboard new accounting partners to MarginEdge: explaining how we partner together to best service our common customers (the restaurant users of MarginEdge), working with them to define how their staff will interface with the MarginEdge to do their daily work and how to reach out for support as needed, and training their team on the MarginEdge platform. This individual is also responsible for ongoing account management: regular check in meetings, reviewing new features as they are launched, and serving as the primary point of contact for escalations. This role coordinates proactive account clean up activities through Tier 1 support and works closely with teammates in Customer Support to resolve customer issues.
MarginEdge: Where hospitality meets technology
As a team built by former (and current!) restaurant operators, our mission is to bring operators the same energy, attention to detail, and passion that they bring to their guests. Our culture is deeply rooted in service, partially because that’s where so many of our team come from (including everyone on our Business Development team), but also because we believe it is just the right way to run a business. We design our software with profound empathy for the complexity of running a restaurant, and the goal of making the magic just a little easier for operators by taking the complex (read: very annoying) back office tasks off their plate, while empowering them with real-time data.
Our founders share a deep history in both owning and operating restaurants and in building successful tech companies. We are venture-backed and serve 10,000+ restaurants across the US and Canada.
We enable restaurants to make magic while knowing we are doing the same for them.
We have the utmost respect for our clients and because of this, we are unable to hire their current employees.
What type of responsibilities will I have?
- Work with accounting partners to understand how their operations work and how they will use MarginEdge so we can modify the onboarding journey as needed
- Train staff at the accounting firm as they bring on new customers and new team members.
- Regular account management calls: bi-weekly, monthly or quarterly depending on partner needs
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge with the accounting features in MarginEdge and integrations with key software applications
- Coordinate with Tier 1 support for proactive quality control work, including but not limited to: o Auditing newly created vendors
- Proactively fixing export errors
- Monitoring error-prone processes that occur outside the software (such as internal transfers and special processes accommodations, and short-term manual process solutions in anticipation of eventual software fixes or enhancements for select clients)
- Coordinate with the customer support team to identify issues, resolve recurring problems, and facilitate fruitful communication
- Act as liaison between Customer Success and product for product roadmap changes needed to better support our accounting firm partners
- Travel to clients or HQ on an average of 1x a month
What qualifications or skills are required?
- Experience working at an accounting firm (restaurant or hospitality focused is a strong plus!) entering A/P, sales journal, and inventory adjustments in an accounting system (Quickbooks, Intacct, Xero, etc.)
- Experience reconciling balance sheet accounts
- Account Management experience–within a customer success team or as a member of the accounting team at a firm
- Knowledge of Salesforce, ChurnZero, Zendesk or other CRM tools
- Passionate about customer service and hospitality
- Possess a strong attention to detail, well-organized, and ability to multitask efficiently - Ability to find innovative and creative solutions to challenges
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Enjoys client interaction and is confident engaging with c-suite managers and business owners
- Comfortable in a fast-moving environment, where change is the norm, potentially including your role changing and growing as the company does
Nice to Haves:
- Technical knowledge – Familiarity with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, and Intacct.
- Industry knowledge – Experience with accounting firms serving the hospitality or restaurant sector.
- Product knowledge – Deep understanding of MarginEdge features and third-party integrations.
